an upgoerfive text talking about my work

trueloveA couple things: this is definitely not the choice of limited vocabulary I'd probably go with myself for a project attempting to simplify verbage for understandability. But it's interesting to work within.
Also, I made an effort not to oversimplify my syntax which is something I've seen a lot of upgoerfive do -- it's a stylistic choice, maybe, but I think a lot of people are making it unconsciously. And I think it contributes to a sense of condescension, at least to native speakers; it feels like you're being talked to as a small child. Which, I'll be honest, I didn't like that much when I was a small child myself.
Additionally, I defined a few words that aren't in the editor; I didn't use them to further define any other words. I think it's valid because how else do you introduce anyone to expanded vocabulary? But YMMV on that one.
So all that said:
I work at a 'casino' -- a place that runs games that take a little bit, or sometimes a lot, of your money for the chance to get more money back. Very few people get money back, though, which is how we make money. My work is owned by the group that is in control of and runs the land of two peoples who are children of children of children of some of the peoples who lived somewhere in the large area of land now known as 'North_America' before people from across the large body of water came here.
My work also has a very nice 'hotel' -- that's a place that has rooms with beds for people when they're away from home. Those rooms are in a very tall building with 15 floors, although only 13 floors have rooms. I work at the front desk, checking people in. Most people who stay with us are people who play those games or people who are here because we have such a beautiful 'hotel'.
We also have places to eat! One of them is up on the top floor and it looks out over the land, it's pretty amazing. But I actually like the place that does an offering of many different foods that you pick as much as you want from yourself the best -- they do a breakfast / lunch once a week that's great. There's three more: one does water animal food, one that does a little bit of everything, and one that does quick stuff to go. There's also several bars and a place that plays dance music.
I meet a lot of interesting people, as you can imagine!
