Right, what you want is to actually get to someone at the front desk, as they'll always have more flexibility than a call center employee is going to even if they're very low on the totem pole.
If the phone menu doesn't provide an obvious selection for getting to the actual front desk (something like Front Desk or Guest Services), 0 for operator will almost always route you to the front desk. It's not an absolute guarantee, but it's pretty rare that it doesn't.
Alternatively you can try for someone in Sales or the AGM or GM; there's usually a selection for something along those lines, as well, in those circumstances.
