(I have for a very long time been convinced that the ridiculously high incidence of kink among queer folk has to do with "well, we've thrown one norm out, so what ELSE might we like doing differently". I'm also pretty convinced that the significant overlap of autistic folk and trans folk has to do mostly with perception of rules and categories and how one fits into them and awareness of the ways in which one is a "bad" whatever.)
