I heartily concur re note 2. I also know a lot of queer disabled people. I know that having my world view broken open by feminists when I was a teenager also left a permanent crack for more light to get in, so to speak.
I mean, there's other causal options. The discrimination that queer folks face can absolutely contribute causally towards disabilities both mental and physical just from the physiological stress even before we get into the rest of the ways in which discrimination can directly cause disability.
Buuuuuut yeah now that I've drawn that parallel (which, weirdly enough, I never had before now; not directly anyway) I kinda think there IS also something to the notion that once you've already found yourself one form of complicated away from the default binary and made your peace with it, it's that much easier to find yourself doing that on other axes of identity/presentation/existence as well.
