It has been A Further Wholeass Saga that I... am not up to detailing at the moment, but: I have been fitted for silver ring splints and am waiting for the kind folks who fitted me to poke my insurance to find out what, if anything, they will deign to pay for! We'll see. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(I mean, my odds are better than most Americans' are: my insurance is less inclined to immediately deny everything on first blush than most, as it is a PPO paid for entirely by my spouse's employer. I still don't rate my odds high, but it's always worth trying.)

Having tracked this down, myself, I figure I will share it: if you're in the Phoenix metropolitan area and you are looking to be fitted for silver ring splints: you want an appointment with Reese (or Rhys? I didn't see his name written down, just heard it spoken, so I cannot attest to its spelling) at the downtown Phoenix Hanger Clinic location. He's the fellow at the clinic who specialises in that sort of thing and has done most of the fittings for them.
